The experience of the sunsets on the east coach beach is so different from the west. People become dark silhouettes against the beautiful western sunsets over the ocean. Here in North Carolina, the sun streams from the west onto the people on the beach, making them glow with color, while skimming the water with light as the eastern sky slowly fades. This works great for me because one of my favorite subjects is people at the beach.

Here is one of my latest, 24 x 36 oil – Beach Frocks. It will be at my studio– at The ArtWorks building at 200 Willard St, near downtown Wilmington, open to the public Thursday through Sunday, 12 to 5, and Fourth Fridays open until 9 PM.

The ArtWorks is an exciting place to visit the  diverse artists and artisans studios. It is also the home to the Verrazano Art Gallery, and a place for classes in painting, aerial aerobics, and private parties.
